An Idaho woman posing as a physician has been arrested on the suspicion of practicing medicine without a license after conducting fake breast exams on at least two female club-goers in Boise (of course leaving men kicking themselves).
Here is Kristina B. Ross’ alleged modus operandi: She would approach the women, introduce herself as a plastic surgeon under the alias, Dr. Berlyn Aussieahshowna, dupe them with a bunch of medical knowledge, conduct the exam, and then – get this – give the women the phone number to a real licensed plastic surgeon’s office. All this in the hopes for gropes.
This action naturally sent up a red flag when employees at the legitimate medical office kept receiving phone calls from women attempting to schedule appointments and surgeries with the bogus doc. This is when authorities were notified and how they learned of her pattern.
But wait, there’s more! As it turns out, Ross is no stranger to run-ins with law. Reported by the Idaho Statesman Website, she has a previous criminal record… wait for it… as a man. According to Idaho Department of Correction documents, obtained by NBC affiliate KTVB, Ross is listed as transgendered as of 2004. Her gender was later listed as “MTF” (man to female) on documents related to a jail sentence stemming from an aggravated battery charge.
Now what have we learned my naïve friends? If a person approaches you in a bar and offers to give you a free breast exam, chances are this person is NOT a doctor and if you allow them to do so, the only thing you need examined is your head.
If Ross is convicted on December 1, she could face a maximum of five years in prison with a $10,000 fine for each count. In other words, the system is sure to give her the squeeze.
