Last Monday, June 22nd, some of our favorite West Coast artists, Cisco Adler and Shwayze, not only performed here in Las Vegas at Prive Nightclub, but they also took a few moments to participate in a video interview with us here at My Vegas Scene.
You’ve heard the songs, “Buzzin” and “Corona and Lime” and you may have caught one of their awesome performances here in Vegas at Wet Republic or Blush Boutique Nightclub before. If you were at Prive Nightclub last Monday night (June 22nd), then you definitely heard what they’re now calling their new favorite song, “Get U Home” – the song that was responsible for electrifying the nightclub that night!
The interview took place at Strip House Las Vegas on the second floor of Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino. Strip House Management was nice enough to provide us with our own private room, where Cisco and Shwayze met us after they finished what looked like an amazing meal.
From my experience in meeting these two, I must say that they’re the kind of guys that you feel like you’ve known forever – even when you’ve just met them. As opposed to an interview, our meeting was more of a fun conversation – with lots of laughter, Patron & Honey and Amstel Light. When asked what their least favorite part about Las Vegas was, Cisco replied, “The next morning…the sweats and the questions.” How many of you can relate to that?
Being such a fan of their music, the best part of the interview for me was having the opportunity to discuss their up and coming project. They described their last album as a “day at the beach” – which is why so many of us loved it. Their new album titled, “Let it Beat” depicts a more upbeat pace – just the opposite of a day at the beach; instead, they take us to the after party! Did I mention that the new album will have special guest appearances by Travis Barker (Get You Home Remix – as seen in the video below) and Snoop Dogg aka “Uncle Snoop”?
What’s next for Cisco and Shwayze? A movie! That’s right, a movie. “It was only natural because we got mad fans from the TV show and it was just a natural progression. We met up with the right people,” said Shwayze. Although they wouldn’t give us too much detail, they did tell us to expect big things in the near future.
I can’t say thank you enough to Cisco Adler, Shwayze, Lauren Pettit, Thad Snook, Ashley Brahim, Strip House Las Vegas and everyone else who made this interview possible. You can follow these musical prodigies on their MySpace at MySpace.com/Shwayze, or on Twitter: @Shwayze and @MrCiscoAdler. Stay tuned for their new single, “Get U Home” expected to hit the radio this week, and their new album in stores early September 2009.
