What do you get when you take a sexy rocker and his hot wife, strip all their clothes off and take a picture? You get one smoking hot ad for animal rights.
Bassist Duff McKagan of Guns N Roses and Velvet Revolver and his model wife Susan Holmes-McKagan striped down to nothing but their tattoos for a PETA campaign called “Ink Not Mink”, “Be comfortable in your own skin and let the animals keep theirs.” Other famous celebrities who have shared their love for animals and refused to wear fur are: Motor cross racer Carey Hart, Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, Basketball bad boy Dennis Rodman, and Jane’s Addiction bassist Dave Navaro. Just to name a few.
In an interview Susan told PETA, “I think we should know better than that,” she went on to say, “Whether you’re a designer or a celebrity, or a stylist, a photographer, I think everyone should share responsibility in bringing more awareness that, hey, fur’s not necessary, it’s out of fashion, it’s completely immoral to the animals.” Susan and Duff are well known animal lovers and they share a home with two dogs, and in a video shot for Peta Duff talks about as a boy having a pet pig that slept in bed with him.
These ads by PETA are fantastic and do a lot to bring awareness to this cruel, cruel practice of skinning animals alive for their fur. All in the name of fashion, I don’t think so. Fur is dead, literally.
