LOS ANGELES, Calif. —-Los Angeles police say the dead body discovered by actor Peter Fonda off Sunset Blvd. appears to be a suicide but added they are continuing to investigate.
‘The Easy Rider’ star called 911 on Wednesday after he spotted a car parked on the side of the famed Sunset Boulevard. According to TMZ the 70-year-old younger brother of actress Jane Fonda got out of his car to check out the situation, and discovered the body of a man slumped over the front seat.
The website also reports that the unidentified man may have taken his own life; the body had been there for about three days.
Sgt, Carlton Cook of the West Los Angeles Community Police Station told the Associated Press, they are investigating the death which appears to be a suicide at this time and in no way is Peter Fonda a suspect in the death.
The Oscar-nominated son of Henry Fonda took writing duties on Easy Rider, which was directed by his friend Dennis Hopper and introduced the world to a young Jack Nicholson.
Fonda also played the lead in the 1966 Roger Corman film The Wild Angels, in which he delivered the famous monologue sampled by Primal Scream on their 1991 track Loaded. More recently he appeared with Russell Crowe and Christian Bale in James Mangold’s 2007 remake of the 1957 western ‘3:10 to Yuma.’Tags: actor, Dead Body, Peter Fonda, suicide, Sunset Blvd.
