NAPLES, Fla. —“Cookie Monster” – Police in Florida arrested a woman after an argument over an empty box of Girl Scout Cookies turned violent.
Naples police said Hersha Howard, 31, of Naples, woke her roommate during the weekend and accused her of eating her box of Thin Mints.
The unidentified roommate explained to Howard that she had given the cookies to Howard’s children and even offered to pay $10 for the box of cookies, but police said Howard rejected her offer and the two women began to argue. The other woman’s husband had to step in and separate them.
According to the police report, Howard then grabbed a pair of scissors and began to chase the woman, eventually dropping the scissors for a board, which she used to strike her roommate. Who keeps lumber inside their home these days?
Howard allegedly knocked her roommate down to the ground and struck her repeatedly with the stick until the woman’s husband stepped in and separated them once again.
Naples Police arrested Howard and charged her with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
At the time of this report it was unknown if Howard was released from jail or if she had obtained a lawyer. What is known is how ignorant someone can be over a box of Girl Scout cookies. You have to wonder if going to jail and paying fines, court costs, restitution and having two felonies is really worth a $10 box of cookies.Tags: Crime, fight, Florida, Girl Scout Cookies, Naples, Oddnews, offbeat news, police, Thin Mints
