Las Vegas Welcome Sign Part of National History

Possibly the most recognized symbol of Las Vegas is the familiar sign at the south end of the Strip that has stood for 50 years. The “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada” sign that was designed by Betty Whitehead Willis and constructed in 1959 at a cost of only $4,000, has been named to the National Register of Historic Places.
