It was a special evening last night as together, we celebrated the life and birthday of Frank Sinatra, one of Las Vegas’ biggest pioneers, with Matt Goss, one of our cities hottest rising stars. It was his last performance of 2009 inside the “Gossy Room” at the Palms Casino Resort. Fox 5 was on site with multiple cameras to capture the awesome event.
Everyone was dressed to impress! Gentleman were in “black tie / rat pack” attire while the ladies wore dresses and gowns. With everyone dressed for the occasion, the Gossy Room appeared to be transformed into something straight out of a different time period. As the curtains opened and the smoke cleared, Matt Goss appeared above a live band who started the evening with a special rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition.”
As the crowd warmed up to “Superstition” and got a feel for what they were in for, Goss immediately went into his hit single, “Evil” – which was recognized by many. The song spoke of a broken relationship and addressed an unknown woman which he refers to as evil. “You’re the only person in my life I wish I hadn’t met,” he sang as the crowd clapped along.
Next, Goss took a moment to wish the late, great Frank Sinatra a happy birthday while he and the crowd raised their drinks and sang “Happy Birthday Frank”. From there he covered one of Sinatra’s classics before going into my favorite original song of his, “The Day We Met.”

Matt Goss, originally from London, was recently named “The Best New Act in Vegas” by the LA Times. Represented by Robin Antin, creator of The Pussycat Dolls, I expect nothing less than astonishing success here in the United States. I can’t stress the importance of going to see this show in Las Vegas. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – I honestly think the Matt Goss show at the Gossy Room inside the Palms Casino Resort is one of the best deals in town.
