MEXICO CITY, Mexico—- A distillery in Mexico has created what it hopes will become the world’s most expensive bottle of tequila.
The bottle nicknamed “Diamond’s Law” by Hacienda La Capilla Company is a 1.3 liter ceramic bottle coated in 5 lbs. of pure platinum and coved with 4,000 diamonds studs totaling 323 carats.
The bottle was crafted by renowned designer Fernando Altamirano and is valued at around $3.5million.
The liquor inside is said to be one of the best, a rich seven-year aged tequila straight from the Mexican state of Jalisco.
Hacienda La Capilla already holds the Guinness record for the most expensive tequila with a bottle that sold for $225,000 in 1996.
This latest creation will go on a world tour of “tequila-appreciating hotspots”, including London, Paris, Switzerland, Spain, Monaco and Dubai, a statement said.
The diamond-encrusted bottle will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
For this price, you’d think they would have included a worm.Tags: Expensive, Mexico City, Offbeat, Tequila
