LOS ANGELES, Calif. –”Jackass” star Steve-O has just signed a deal to host an Americanized version of a British competition series “Sing if You Can” for cable network truTV.
Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Glover will serve as host of the new show which will be called “Killer Karaoke.”
“Killer Karaoke” will challenge contestants to break out in song in the midst of extreme, hilarious and sometimes skin-crawling situations,” truTV said in a news release Monday.
Zodiak USA, the producers of the networks popular “Hardcore Pawn,” “All Worked Up” and “Lizard Lick Towing” will produce eight episodes of the series which will premiere next year.
“Killer Karaoke’ is a music competition show as only truTV would do it –hilarious, outrageous and wild,” Marc Juris, executive vice president and general manager of truTV said in a statement.
“I’m in love with the concept of this show and overjoyed to be a part of it,’ added Steve-O. “I cannot wait to get started.”
Steve-O best known for his outrageous and sometimes dangerous stunts recently broke his own nose during Charlie Sheen’s Comedy Central roast.
Toward the end of the broadcast, Steve-O ran directly into Mike Tyson’s outstretched fist.
The 37-year-old reality TV star posted photos of his face the next day on his Whosay account with the caption, “My face is a mess. Here’s a good photo.”
“I couldn’t believe it. It hurt like hell, but he managed to pop the bone right back into place,” Steve-O tweeted. “I think my nose will actually wind up straighter than it’s been since Bam Margera broke it on the set of Jackass 3D.”[postvideo src=”sHGsPTfCrNU”] Tags: game show, Jackass Star, reality tv, Television
