In a battle of showcasing the entertainment industries finest, who do you think would win…The Pearl at the Palms, or its upcoming competition, The (New) Joint?
As you may already know, the Hard Rock Hotel here in Las Vegas has been undergoing some major construction. What you may not have known was that this construction includes a state-of-the-art concert venue which they’re claiming to be on of the most “sophisticated, intimate, and authentic venues in Las Vegas.”
The new project at the Hard Rock Hotel could pose a concern for “The Pearl” – the 2500 seat concert venue at the Palms Casino Resort – a three level facility where no seat in the venue is more than 120 feet from center stage. I say this because “The (new) Joint” at the Hard Rock will be a 4,000 seat venue with seven (7) premiere VIP Hospitality Suites and of course, an innovative sound and lighting system. Very much like the Pearl, The Joint’s furthest seat will only be 155 feet from the stage.
Here are some of the things you can expect from the Hard Rock’s new concert venue:
- 700+ fixed balcony seats
- Four dressing rooms with a production office
- A top-notch green room and “meet and greet” area
- 18,000 lumens high-definition projectors to animate the screens
- WiFi Access throughout the venue and blogging stations for press (neat)
- The ability to transform the venue (like the Pearl) for boxing, wrestling, MMA, red carpet events, etc.
The New Joint is slated at about $60 Million so far – which is part of the $750 Million expansion which is set to be complete THIS YEAR (2009)! The expansion will include 860 more guest rooms, 60,000 square feet of meeting and convention space and an additional 30,000 square feet on the casino floor.
Although I can definately see the importance of the venue in which someone is performing…if its going to boil down to The Pearl vs. The Joint, it’ll be interesting to see who can book the better performers! Let the games begin!Tags: Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas, The Joint Las Vegas, The Pearl Las Vegas
