Toothpick Sculpture 35 Years in the Making [VIDEO]

When we think of toothpicks, more times than not, it’s in reference to those pesky pieces of food that get lodged in between our pearly whites. Or — some merely carry them around, just to throw them in their mouths from time to time. Scott Weaver, however, chose them as his weapon of choice in sculpting the most immaculate interactive sculpture that you’ve probably ever seen.

How long did such an amazing feat take? Not much time at all — merely 35 years! That’s right 100,000 toothpicks and 35 years later, Weaver concocted one heck of a piece, highlighting the beautiful city of San Francisco, California. So take a look and then hit up your local supermarket to stack up on those small pieces of wood. I know some of you out there will attempt to one up Mr. Weaver. Best of luck to you.
