Once you’ve put away the devil horns and taken down the Halloween decorations for the season, it’s time to start thinking about how to spend the month of November. Las Vegas begins to slow down a bit in anticipation for the holiday season, but that doesn’t mean there’s any shortage of things to do while you’re in Sin City during this time of the year. Here’s what you can find going on around town this November:
Vegas Valley Book Festival – Writers and book lovers alike will appreciate the variety of readings, book signings, workshops and other events that celebrate the written word, all of which are free and open to the public. Now in its ninth year, the Vegas Valley Book Festival will be held November 3-7. Most events will take place at the historic Fifth Street School in downtown Las Vegas.
Strut Your Mutt – Corral your favorite four-legged pals and head to Dog Fanciers Park from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. on November 6 for a day of canine fun during the Strut Your Mutt event. Enjoy performances, contests and crafts along with other dog lovers, fans and pet industry supporters from around the valley.
Aviation Nation – Nellis Air Force Base invites the public to learn about aviation history over the course of the two-day event known as Aviation Nation, which takes place November 13-14 this year. In addition to displays about America’s military achievements, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will headline the event and approximately 100 aircraft will be on display.
Global Gaming Expo – If you want to learn about casino gaming, then Las Vegas is the ideal place to do it. Every year casino entertainment industry professionals gather at Global Gaming Expo, an annual convention, to learn about the newest products, technology and services as they relate to casino gaming. This year the expo is November 16-18; those who would like to wander the exhibit may purchase a pass for just that portion of the conference.
Opportunity Village Magical Forest – Beginning November 20 and running through the end of the year, the Opportunity Village Magical Forest will be open to the public. Enjoy the three-acre wonderland, which is packed with more than 100 decorated trees and three million illuminated Christmas lights. This annual event is the most popular fundraiser for Opportunity Village, welcoming tens of thousands of guests every year.
Motor Trend International Auto Show – Check out the newest auto technologies and shining samples straight off the assembly line at the Motor Trend International Auto Show held November 26-28. Admire the latest models from more than 40 brand names at this year’s show.
