Vince Neil Receives Slap on the Wrist in Las Vegas DUI Case

LAS VEGAS, N.V. —- In a complete mockery of the judicial system, Motley Crew singer Vince Neil will spend two weeks in jail and another two weeks on house arrest for driving drunk last summer near the Las Vegas Strip.

Neil, 49, pled guilty Wednesday before a Las Vegas jutice of the peace to driving under the influence, which is a  misdemeanor. Neil is expected to begin serving his sentence Feb. 15, a week after his 50th birthday.

This is not Neil’s first DUI conviction. In 1984, Neil was charged with vehicular manslaughter and DUI in Los Angeles after he lost control of his vehicle and hit an oncoming car, killing his passenger, Hanoi Rocks drummer Nicholas “Razzle” Dingley and seriously injuring the two occupants of the other vehicle. Prior to the accident Neil had spent the afternoon drinking and partying. His blood alcohol level was 0.17 which was well above the California legal limit at the time of 0.10.

Neil was sentenced to 30 days in jail, five years probation, ordered to pay $2.6 million in restitution to the victims of the crash and 200 hours of community service. Neil got out of jail in 15 days for good behavior.

You would think at almost 50 Neil would finally get his shit together and quit acting like a total fucking moron. However, that does not seem to be case.

This recent conviction only demonstrates Neil’s extreme narcissistic attitude and the lack of brain power to consider others. Painfully obvious is his omission of scruples, conscience and moral fiber. This bloated washed-up aging rock star could have hired a driver or taken a cab instead he only thought of himself.

The death of Razzle and the brain damage he caused the two girls in the other car in 1984 meant nothing to him as he decided to take it upon himself to drive drunk.

Neil is not the only one to blame. The Clark County court system proved once again that anyone with a modest amount of fame and some cash can get away with anything. Paris Hilton who was arrested for possession of cocaine in Las Vegas last August was sentenced to one year probation, 200-hours community service, $2,000 fine and was ordered to complete a drug abuse program. It was the third time cops found drugs on Hilton, because she has money and a name, she ended up walking away unscathed and free to do it all over again.

There is no real justice as long as prosecutors and judges continue to molly coddle these drunk, drugs addicted, brainless twits while the average Joe continues to get  the shaft.
