“Viva Las Vegas” Played By Fans To Break World Record At Welcome Sign

“Viva Las Vegas” played by fans and rockers to see if they could break the world record at the Las Vegas welcome sign on Tuesday, August 11, 2009. Celebrating 5 years, VEGAS ROCKS MAGAZINE, held an event to see if they could break the Guinness Book of World record.

What was the world record to be broken? The most guitar players performing our favorite song, “Viva Las Vegas.” Long-haired rockers and leather clad fans showed up on the Las Vegas Boulevard to help break the record.

The happiest mayor in the world showed up at the welcome sign to show his support. Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman played his rendition along with the supportive crowd. He congratulated the magazine on their five years accomplishment.

The festivities where led by an Elvis impersonator and Publisher and Editor of Vegas Rocks Magazine, Sally Steel. After the Elvis’ verson of “Viva Las Vegas” the classic tune by The Dead Kennedy’s was played by the group.
