Briefly cease the weeping all those who morn the soon to be end of the reign of every nine to five-er’s favorite boss to love to hate. For The Office has found quite the worthy addition to aid in transitioning the outs of Michael Scott, played by funny man Steve Carell.
Perennial jokester Will Ferrell is here to save the day for the popularized television series, as he will make a four episode jaunt in lightening the blow of Carell’s highly saddened departure. Word from the show’s producers is that Ferrell will be cast as a Dunder Mifflin home office branch manager, that will begin the passing of the reigns from the Michael Scott character to his predecessor, the following season. Not only that, but the Anchorman star is said to be featured in one episode after Carell’s leave—just to soften the blow, if you will.
“We found Steve Carell when he was nothing but a movie star and we turned him into a television star,” said The Office executive producer Paul Lieberstein.“We are proud to continue The Office’s tradition of discovering famous talent, and we hope that once America gets a good look at Will, they’ll see what we see: tremendous raw sexuality.”
“Tremendous raw sexuality,” I couldn’t have said it better myself. Although the big screen leading man hasn’t exactly produced the knee slappers over the past few years, I think most would agree that he is definitely a worthy transitioner, in which this project could possibly warrant future experiments into the world of television for Ferrell.Tags: Steve Carell, The Office, Will Ferrell
